What is a Weed Grinder?
If you don’t puff on flower too often, a grinder may just be a foreign object to you. They’re usually available at most smoke shops and head shops, including our online head shop. Grinders come in a wide variety of styles, shapes and sizes, sometimes you have to be careful with how fine or dense you want your grinder to be grinding your cannabis. Some grinders are a little more technical than others as they have additional functionals and features for instance, a multi chambered grinder to catch kief.
Using a Weed Grinder w/ Kief Catcher
A popular style grinder includes what is called a “kief catcher”, a chamber located at the bottom of the grinder to catch kief, hairs and micro buds falling through the screen while the material is being prepared. The kief is usually collected over time and once enough is available used to top off a bowl, joint or blunt.
1 - Insert material: Take some material and break off 2-3 nugs about the size of the tip of your finger. Depending on the size of your grinder it may have to be a little smaller. Place the material inside the teeth of the grinder.
2 - Grind material: Close the grinder with the lid and give it 2-3 turns.
3 - Inspect material: Inspect the material to ensure it is the correct density. If you want it finer you can close the lid and give it a couple more turns.
4 - Inspect kief catcher: If your grinder has a kief catcher, check it to see if you want to add any kief on top of whatever you are preparing.
